We guarantee to leave positive feedback for every buyer following receipt of feedback. Land Rover Defender LT77 Complete Short Manual 5 the receipt for this will be included the axle looks good, but is untestedthe prop looks ok in a scruffy way, one rubber is split. These are all the late-date very strong ones with larger bearings and shafts etc.
The latest box as used in the Rover SD1 saloon Car was the 'D' suffix, so these later boxes are difficult to come by and are not guaranteed to be much better. For this reason we now only supply the newer R transmission as used in the Morgan Plus 8 and MG Rv8 models, it is a direct replacement and almost identical externally, so is a very simple upgrade.
MGB V8 - R380 gearlever remote extension
Recommended Use is for Take advantage of this great special offer. What's more we can even lighten the flywheel in three stages to suit all individual needs.
As this gearbox evolved, Rover made a few modifications, none of which cured the problems. The 'D' suffix box is by far the strongest, but as strength was not the problem this seemed a little inappropriate to us. Also, they changed their mind three times as to what Transmission Oil to use. In the first instance it was [I believe] EP80 or perhaps 90 but this transmission oil is very thick when cold and did not allow easy selection of 2nd or 3rd gear until the transmission was warmer.
The second recommendation was Castrol TQF. This was far better for the gear changes, however, as it is an auto transmission fluid some problems were encountered with its lubrication qualities and many gearboxes failed. The third recommendation and I have heard of none since was to use Castrol SMX, although I believe this is, in fact, still an auto fluid, it is a synthetic fluid.
We have been recommending this ourselves over the past 7 or 8 years and I have had no bad findings on its use.
LT77 RECONDITIONED Gearbox
The input shaft of the Rover 5-speed is held into the front casing of the transmission and is mounted using a 'Tapered Roller bearing'. This bearing's tolerance is 'pre-set' in the factory with shims of varying thickness and offers no simple adjustments for servicing etc.
After examining many hundreds of used 5-speed transmissions at 70 thousand miles or more, we always note that the input shaft has become slack within the front cover and its alignment is seriously affected with regards to the meshing with the layshaft. If caught early enough and you strip out the transmission completely, it is possible to fit new shims to the correct tolerance, and the transmission will be happy to go on for many more miles. However, as no one normally does this to a transmission, almost all of the used ones will have this allignment problem that will lead to the other common problems mentioned.
As the alignment suffers further, the input shaft and layshaft alignment become very sloppy. This will cause wear of the input shaft and layshaft teeth I have seen many a Layshaft with the teeth stripped to an almost perfect sphere. The resultant swarf, wastes no time in reducing the oil pump fibre teeth to little use, and this further causes wear to the selectors and synchros, not to mention the other bearings etc.
Having supplied many reconditioned units in the past, we developed a replacement for this taper bearing, using a heavy duty non-tapered one. This can be fitted with very little fuss and ensures a more precise allignment for many many thousands of miles.

The R top photo is a suburb transmission and should have no problems with power outputs well above bhp, and, as you can see, in terms of fitment is the same as the LT77 bottom photomaking the conversion very simple, and the ideal choice for your Rover V8 application, with the additional advantage of the short Remote or std.The Rover SD1 gearbox is renowned for having a poor gearchange particularly when cold.Meross local api
I found that the gear lever remote extension placed the gearlever about 45mm too far back in the transmission tunnel in my MGB so the extension needed to be shortened. I had a good look at the gearbox and remote extension and found that the SD1 reverse detent wasn't needed as the R gearbox had a built in reverse inhibitor.
The reverse light switch wasn't required for the same reason. Most importantly I found it very difficult to select gears due to the slop in the extension mechanism. The mechanism was rubber mounted which wouldn't have helped, but most of the slop appeared to be due to a loose fit of the remote shaft in it's bearings and the sloppy action of the crank connecting the remote shaft to the main gear selector shaft. This page details the modifications I made to the linkage to reduce the length and to improve the gearchange.
This picture shows my new mounting for the remote shaft. I connected the remote shaft directly to the main selector shaft in order to eliminate the second crank. This lowers the selector crank to maybe 5mm above the propshaft flange. This should be enough in my installation but might cause problems in other installations where the rear axle travel is greater. I found that the tubing from a Volkswagen Polo wheel brace was a perfect fit over the main selector shaft.
I welded this to the remote shaft, and drilled a hole to bolt it to the main shaft.
I made some 2mm steel brackets to secure the shortened remote unit to the gearbox. The remote is angled up towards the rear to raise the prong in the bottom of the gearlever away from the propshaft.
The top bracket is secured by the bolts that secure the gearstick centralising spring. The photograph was taken before I welded up the reinforcing flange. The lower bracket was made in 1 piece and is secured to the original lower bracket mounting holes as well as the dust cover mounting holes.
There isn't any room for a dust cover in this installation, nor would there be room for the reverse detent mechanism. The brackets hold the gearstick much more firmly than the original brackets, and the gearchange quality is now excellent. I also welded a couple of flanges onto the gear lever mounting bracket as these are notorious for breaking off.
I might have to modify the gearlever itself a little as it exits the transmission tunnel just a little too far to the right.
The gearshift works reasonably well in the car. It's very precise but sometimes a little notchy - particularly when going into reverse and changing down to second or first.Start service ssh agent not working
There is quite a wide gait - presumably due to my modifications, but it's fine with a short gear lever. The finished adapter - The brackets hold the gearstick much more firmly than the original brackets, and the gearchange quality is now excellent. We're thrilled that you had a positive experience and we look forward to seeing you again. New native advertising networks will flood the market with high promises and low value offerings looking for flash-in-the-pan profits. This will accelerate if a big player like Google, Microsoft or Yahoo buys a native ad network.LT77 gearbox overhaul. Part 1 - stripping the box
As with any new market, it will cut its own fat over time and the flash-in-the-pan native ad networks will die off and the top native ad networks that actually create value in the market will innovate and dominate. Right now targeting is quite rudimentary and not too much innovation has been put into the native ad creatives. There will be a lot more spammy native ad networks popping up than value-add native ad networks. Be wary of which networks you choose to run your native ad campaigns with.
Even the publishers that use DFP premium have no clue about it or how to use the features. Google made a great step to include it in the DFP Publisher University. The first party data management tools are only available for DFP Premium and not DFP Small Business.
Over time, the Ad Exchanges and RTBs will simplify the custom RTB setups for publishers. Currently, most of the providers offer long setups requiring a decent level of developer resources to learn and implement correctly.
The setups can be fairly complex on the DFP end as well when going through for the first time. These setups will be become more automated, the instructions will improve (ie. Later in 2015 aggregated custom RTBs should come into the picture as well, even though most current custom RTBs claim to target the most exchanges and DSPs under the moon.
